Would you like to participate in a research study where you get the opportunity to try a new medicine for depression?

Medications that may prove to be a valuable alternative in the treatment of depression are now being investigated through clinical research, and your participation can make a difference.

For this study, we are looking for individuals diagnosed with depression. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the safety, efficacy, and maintenance of effect of an investigational drug in people with depression.

Target group: individuals between 18–74 years old

Criteria for participation:

  • Be 18–74 years old
  • Be diagnosed with depression
  • Have previously taken antidepressant medications that did not work well for you
  • Currently taking an antidepressant medication but still experiencing symptoms of depression
  • BMI between 18–40 kg/m2
  • Not donated blood or plasma in the last month
  • Be willing to use a double barrier method for heterosexual intercourse, i.e., condom/be sterile (men) AND have approved contraception/be sterile/postmenopausal (women)

If you are interested in participating, the study doctor or study staff will perform certain tests to assess if you can participate in the study.

The study consists of two parts. In part one, which is this part, you will receive the investigational drug or placebo for six weeks. If you complete part one, you will also have the opportunity to participate in part two. In part two, you may receive the investigational drug for up to 16 weeks or more.

All study-related care is completely free of charge, with the possibility of travel reimbursement. The study does not pay for other medical care or current medications needed to support your daily care.
