Study 900
Are you bothered by foul-smelling vaginal discharge? This could be a symptom of bacterial vaginosis. We are looking for women to participate in a research study involving a treatment for bacterial vaginosis.
The study uses a vaginal tablet that is approved (CE marked) for one week's treatment of bacterial vaginosis. The purpose of the study is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of extending the treatment by one week.
Bacterial vaginosis is caused by an overgrowth of bacteria and affects most women at some point in their lives. The infection can cause foul-smelling discharge and sometimes even itching and burning. Today, there are several approved medications for bacterial vaginosis, many of which contain antibiotics. However, they are not always effective, which means that the infection recurs.
Target group: women with bacterial vaginosis, over 18 years of age
Criteria for participation:
- Have foul-smelling vaginal discharge
- Be at least 18 years old
- Being in a menstruating period of life
The study lasts for approximately 25 days, and you will quickly be given an appointment for an initial examination by a gynecologist, followed by three further visits to the clinic.
You will take vaginal tablets at home for 12 days. The vaginal tablet is taken in the evening before you go to bed.
The clinics are located at CMedical (formerly Studentgyn) in Uppsala and CTC in Stockholm (Karolinska Solna).
Compensation
SEK 2,260 for your participation and travel expenses.
