Study 1137
We are looking for healthy individuals to participate in a clinical trial of an investigational drug designed to prevent and treat lung diseases.
The purpose of the study is to evaluate the effect of two other medications (orlistat and itraconazole) on the levels of the study drug, buloxibutide, in the body.
Target group: healthy men and women, ages 18–60
Criteria for participation:
- Be healthy
- BMI between 18.5–30 kg/m2
- Do not have hard-to-access veins or a fear of needles
- Must not regularly use nicotine or tobacco products
- Do not take any medications or dietary supplements
- Do not have high blood pressure
- Must not have participated in another drug study in the last three months
- Must not have donated blood in the last three months (or plasma in the last month)
- Be willing to use a dual barrier method during heterosexual intercourse (i.e., condoms or male sterilization) AND use approved contraceptives, be sterilized, or be postmenopausal, and not be pregnant, intend to become pregnant, or be breastfeeding during the course of the study (women)
The study consists of three visits to our clinic in Uppsala: a health check-up, a dosing visit, and a follow-up visit. During the dosing visit, you will stay overnight at the clinic for 14 days. The dosing visit is divided into three periods, during which you will receive doses of the study drug twice a day.
During the second phase, depending on which group you are randomly assigned to, you will receive the study drug in combination with either orlistat or itraconazole.
Compensation:
46,504 SEK in compensation for your participation.
