Study 957 – Part I
We are looking for healthy individuals to participate in a clinical trial of a medication used to treat inflammation of the esophagus.
The purpose of this study is to investigate and compare how the drug budesonide is absorbed, distributed, and excreted in the body for different dosage forms and doses, as well as under fasting conditions and after a meal.
Target group: healthy individuals, ages 18–60
Criteria for participation:
- Be healthy
- BMI between 18.5–30 kg/m2
- Weigh at least 55 kg
- Be willing to eat a larger, high-calorie meal
- Do not use nicotine products regularly
- Do not take any medications or dietary supplements
- Must not have participated in another drug study in the last three months
- Must not have donated blood in the last three months (or plasma in the last month)
- Use approved contraceptives, be sterile, or be postmenopausal, and not be—or intend to become—pregnant or breastfeeding during the course of the study (women)
The study consists of two visits to our clinic in Uppsala over a period of about six weeks: a health checkup and a dosing visit. During the dosing visit, you will stay at the clinic for 16 days and spend 15 nights there. The dosing visit is divided into five periods during which you will receive several doses of the medication in various forms, both on an empty stomach and with meals.
Compensation: 57,720 SEK for your participation, plus travel expenses
